Manchester United Premier Cup Finals

The 2015 Manchester United Premier Cup Finals are being held in Sydney this weekend at Valentine Sports Park with both the SA NTC and West Adelaide U15s competiting.

Joining the two sides from SA will be Football NSW Institute, Marconi Stallions, ACTAS, Belconnen United FC (ACT), Emerging Jets, Football Federation Victoria NTC, Hamilton Olympic FC (NNSW) and New Zealand side Onehunga to battle it out with the winners earning a place at the 2015 World Finals.

Since 2003 the World Finals have been held in various places globally including the United States, Hong Kong and Manchester, England.

The Preliminary competition will be staged at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground, with the Grand Final to be played in the Theatre of Dreams itself, Old Trafford.

The MUPC started in the UK as a regional tournament in 1993.

With a combined passion for the game, Manchester United Football Club and Nike joined forces in 2003 and the MUPC has now grown into one of the largest and most highly regarded football events of its kind.

Over one million players have taken part in the competition this year with over 9,000 teams from more than 40 countries competing for a place at the 2014 World Finals.

The search to find the world’s best U15s teams from around the globe to compete at this year’s World Finals is now well and truly underway - and by the end of this weekend one of the ten teams will have earned the once in a lifetime opportunity to represent Australia and New Zealand on the global MUPC stage.

The official draw ceremony will take place this Friday evening at the Valentine Sports Park Indoor Centre.

Football Federation SA wishes both teams from SA the best of luck in the tournament.
