Record Crowd at Women's Cup Final
Football Federation SA is pleased to advise a record crowd at Sunday's Girls & Women's Cup Finals.
Held at Elite Systems Football Centre, the Finals celebrates what the girls & women;s game in South Australia has become.
Played in perfect conditions on the idyllic pitch, girls and women enjoyed what was a great day of football in the state.
Close to 3,000 spectators came through the gates through out the day with the Women's Premier Cup Final seeing a fantastic crowd of 1,100 supporters.
The crowd enjoyed the excellent standard of play with Metro United winning the Cup, topping off their 10 year anniversary and continuing to cement their place as a dominant force in women's football.
With the introduction of the Women's National Premier League in 2016, Football Federation SA is confident that the standard of women's football is set to rise in the state.
Despite the local season wrapping up, football fans can look forward to the kick-off of the Westfield W-League only weeks away.
