Alagich & Keen Inducted in to Hall of Fame

Football Federation SA is pleased to announce the South Australia Hall of Fame inductees for 2015, Rudi Alagich OAM and Airlie Keen.

Rudi Alagich OAM was associated with the game of football for in excess of 60 years, contributing as a player and administrator.

Rudi passed away earlier in 2015, his daughter Nancy Keenan has played an integral role in his induction in to the Hall of Fame and spoke on the families behalf.

“Our family greatly appreciates the FFSA committee's acknowledgement of Dad's enthusiastic, untiring work for soccer, by inducting him posthumously into the Hall of Fame and this high recognition makes us feel very proud.

“With this happiness comes much sadness that Dad is not here to accept the award. Dad passed away on the 5th of February this year, in Broken Hill, not aware that he was being considered for this honour and we know that he would have been overcome with emotion.

“Dad was so passionate about the world game since 1939, whether it was through playing, working for, or promoting, that he was known in Broken Hill as ‘Mr. Soccer’.”

The second inductee Airlie Keen has been associated with the game of football in excess of 24 years, contributing as a player, referee, assistant referee, administrator and coach and was surprised by her induction.

“I was very surprised and am honoured to be named amongst such a distinguished list of champions of our game, including some great referees.

“My achievements result from the support I have received from referee colleagues for which I am grateful.

“The greatest reward comes from seeing young referees reach their potential. I hope that my inclusion can serve to encourage people to give refereeing a go. “

Both Rudi and Airlie have been inducted to the Hall of Honour as members for Outstanding Contribution.
