Metro United Women’s Football Club (MUWFC) celebrated a storybook year recently at their end of season Club Presentation Lunch.

In their 10 Year Anniversary, the club achieved the dream double – winning the Women’s Premier League as well as the Women’s Premier League Cup.

MUWFC President Dora Rinaldi spoke at the event about the momentous year, thanking all that were a part of the achievements; players, coaching staff, volunteers, sponsors, supports and parents who bring their daughters to trainings and game day.

“We have created a Club with a unique spirit and culture that is the envy of many Clubs, because we are not just a soccer club, we are one big family.

“The few of us that are still here after 10 years never in our wildest dreams thought that we would be so successful and achieve so much.

“We have now taken 17 League Championships and 9 Cup trophies, which is something to be very proud of. We have never lost focus which was to always provide our girls with the best opportunity to play soccer.” Said Rinaldi.

In the momentous year, MUWFC recorded not only the Premier League Double but were the Reserve League winners, Division 4 League winners and took home their first Under 13 League title. Additionally, senior team player Marijana Rajcic was awarded the Shirley Brown Women’s Premier League Player of the Year at the recent Football Federation SA awards evening and now goes on to lead the Adelaide United Lady Reds as Captain in the Westfield W-League competition.
