Regional Players Depart for FIJI

The U15 and U17 Regional Girls teams departed for The Ultimate Fiji Cup today, the tournament is played in Fiji from the 5th of December to the 11th of December.

The U13 Boys squad will join the girls on Saturday with their games kicking off from the 7th of December running through to the 11th.

The players taking part in the tournament were selected from the Regional Camp in July and have been a part of the Regional Program with training a minimum of once a week at satellite venues.

The tournament will see the SA Teams face other states including Country NSW, Country Victoria and Fiji National Teams.

Football Federation SA Game Development Manager John Mundy noted that the tournament is a fantastic opportunity for regionally based football players.

“Football Federation SA are delighted to provide this challenging opportunity for regional players, some of whom are geographically isolated and now are able to represent their state in an international tournament.

"The competition will be tough and the playing conditions testing but I’m confident our teams will be competitive.”

Football Federation SA wishes all teams competing in the tournament the best of luck.
