Football Federation SA wishes to congratulate local players Velvet Klass and Travis Brookes who have been selected to participate in the Foxtel All-Stars Tim Cahill Ambitions Tour for 2016.

The Ambitions Tour gives young football lovers the chance to follow their dreams. 24 lucky teens are been selected to take part in the Foxtel All-Stars Tim Cahill Ambitions Tour; an exclusive 5-day camp with Tim to experience the life of a professional footballer. Plus, one chosen boy and girl will then win the Foxtel All-Stars Tim Cahill scholarship to help kick-start them on their journey to success.

Velvet, 16, who currently plays for Adelaide University in the local South Australian competition applied for the Ambitions tour in writing including information such as her history of playing football, her family’s involvement in football and her personal aspirations with playing – progressing from the Women’s National Premier League, to the Lady Reds and the Matilda’s or German National team where her father originates.

Travis, also 16 years of age, applied in both writing detailing similar points to Velvet, as well as with video – with a link to his YouTube account that displays his football talent.

Velvet and Travis will attend the camp in Sydney from January 13 to 17 and both are looking forward to the experience.

“I’m excited to be going to this camp as I’ve never experienced anything like this. As I don’t come from a privileged background, this opportunity is unbelievable, to do something that might get me further towards the goal that I have set for myself as a football player” noted Velvet.

Both Travis and Velvet told that Tim Cahill is a sporting hero of theirs, Velvet detailing that having watched him since she was young and his struggle to become not just one of the great Australian players but a great Australian ambassador which has truly inspired her.
