National Volunteer Week - Volunteer in Focus
9-15 May is National Volunteer Week and Football Federation SA wishes to take this opportunity to thank volunteers in Football across the state!
South Adelaide Panthers have identified Lynne and John Monsigneur as two long standing volunteers at the club who deserve acknowledgement for their 20+ years of service.
Volunteer In Focus:

Why are Lynne and John so valued at South Adelaide?
In the early days John dedicated his time to setting up goals, marking pitches and getting grounds ready for all to play on.
Lynne spent her time in the canteen and making sure the players were looked after, (even if they had no money they got fed).
John has also helped out when ever he could coaching. Some weeks it's Under 17 and some it's Under 8 or 9.
John and Lynne welcomed many English players brought over to play for South Adelaide into their homes to stay for months and sometimes years on end. These players included current Senior Coach, Danny Graystone, former captain Ben Smith and recently Daniel Sullivan and Josh Hawker.
As we have moved in to the PlayStation 4 National Premier League John has been a great support for the coaches and players. He washes kits and does all the paperwork for match day. Organises refreshments for all teams and goes that extra mile for all players.
Lynne although it's behind the scenes has made sure all the boys are fed and looked after - most of the time inviting up to 10 or so players and coaches over for dinner after training or matches.
In 2014 John was recognised by the club with life membership and now has 2 grandchildren, Lily playing Under 11 girls and Seth playing Under 11 boys.. and maybe one more to join the ranks in 2017.
