RAA African Nations Cup Coaches gain Community Accreditation

The FFSA held a Community Accreditation Coaching Course for all of the Head Coaches at the 2016 RAA African Nations Cup.

The Course, run at Elite Systems Football Centre, included four sessions totalling 14 hours of Coaching Education provided by a former FFA Coach.

Participants completed the requirements to be awarded Community level Accreditation - enabling them to apply for some positions around Australia from next season onwards.

Football specific training was the objective of the course, whilst there was a focus on fitness and conditioning through football-relevant drills as well including possession activities inside a small space initially before growing into a full pitch area.

Many of the participants know very little English but Albert, who moved to Australia from Sierra Leone in 2007 is delighted with the new opportunities this course is opening up for him.

"I'm working with Bianco Constructions but this course is allowing me to further my coaching career," said Albert.

"The most important part of this course is learning the techniques of football and then passing them onto other others."

The Sierra Leone Coach has participated in the African Nations Cup each year since he arrived in Australia and he believes the tournament which now features 16 nations is only going to get bigger.

The 2016 RAA African Nations Cup kicks off at Elite Systems Football Centre this morning before culminating in the Third vs Fourth Playoff and Grand Final next weekend (Saturday October 8) at the same venue.

All the details can be found in the attached PDF file HERE, remembering that the event was shifted to Elite Systems Football Centre following the midweek Adelaide storm.
