Adelaide City FC appoint two Junior Development staff

Adelaide City FC has announced the appointment of two new staff members responsible for Junior Development.

The Black and Whites announced on Tuesday (October 18), that Rick Cerracchio will be the Club's new Junior Head Technical Director while South Australian Football Legend, Sergio Melta, will be Junior High Performance Director.

Both Cerracchio and Melta bring a wealth of football experience to their roles, a key factor in their appointments which will oversee the high numbers of Junior players at Adelaide City.

City's Junior Football Chairman, Greg Slack, says it is the responsibility of South Australia's Clubs to provide the best possible training environment for young players to enable the sport to continue progressing.

Sergio Melta pointed to stars who are now competing professionally in Australia and abroad such as Ben Garuccio, Bruce Kamau and Stefan Mauk - all each grew up learning the sport of football at Adelaide City, as the motivation behind him taking on the High Performance Director role.

"Our Club wants to provide development opportunities for current youth players to follow in the footsteps of those names," said Melta.

Cerracchio and Melta have both begun their new roles with their impact being visible from the beginning of the 2017 Junior Season.
