FFSA Statement regarding Melissa Barbieri
In reply to the article published in The Advertiser today (see Adelaide Now), Football Federation SA would like to clarify matters outlined in the story.
Football Federation SA made an approach to secure the services of Melissa Barbieri for Adelaide United’s 2011/12 Westfield W-League season.
Unfortunately Barbieri declined the offer made. Football Federation SA were unable to match the offer put to Barbieri by the Newcastle Jets.
It is also understood that Football West were in negotiations to sign Barbieri.
