Arsenal Doubles Club Visit a Success
Alan Sefton MBE and Daniel Rossetto from Arsenal in the Community recently visited Adelaide to demonstrate the Arsenal Doubles Club Program, run by English football powerhouse Arsenal.
Football Federation SA (FFSA) has had a long partnership with Arsenal in delivering a similar version of the Doubles Club called the Two Halves Program however this visit was the first time FFSA has hosted the Arsenal in the Community team.
The response to the sessions held at Adelaide Shores Football Centre we so great that a third day was added on the 23rd of December which was hosted by Ascot Park Primary School.
Across the three days Alan and Daniel along with help from FFSA staff ran the Doubles Club Program which focussed on 10 and 11 year olds spending an hour in the class room learning literacy through a football theme and then an hour outside doing a practical football session.
The aim of the Doubles Club is to motivate and inspire students using Arsenal and Football to show them that learning can be achievable, fun and rewarding.
Over 60 Children participated in the program and many local teachers came along to view the sessions for possible implementation in their schools.
Football Federation SA wishes to thank Alan and Daniel for conducting the programme in the community.
