In do-or-die fixtures, the Swifts edged out the Vixens 45-33 to secure their position in the final series in front of a near capacity Hisense Arena before the Mystics defeated the Steel 47-35 to round out the finals competitors.

The Finals Series kicks off with the knock-out Semi-Final, the Swifts hosting Finals Series debutants, Northern Mystics, at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon.

The Swifts survived an early elimination fixture to progress through to the ANZ Championship finals at the expense of the Melbourne Vixens in Round 12.

Swifts captain Catherine Cox says her side is avoiding thoughts about last year’s straight sets elimination from the finals with losses to the Thunderbirds and Magic after going through the regular season undefeated with 13 straight
