NEWS Liberals pledge $100k for Golden Plains SC if re-elected

AS PART of the Federal Election campaign, sitting Corangamite MP Sarah Henderson has pledged $100,000 for ground improvements at the Bannockburn Recreation Precinct, home of the Golden Plains Soccer Club, if re-elected.

The announcement was made last weekend and featured prominently in the Geelong Advertiser as part of a combined campaign promise made to several sporting clubs in the region.

The money, which would total about $100,000, would be supposedly used to fund new coaches' boxes, fencing around the main ground and a contribution towards the erection of a new pavilion at the Bannockburn Recreation Precinct, which will include changerooms and clubrooms.

Construction of the new pavilion is set to start in the coming weeks and be ready in time for the 2017 season.

Also on the horizon is the construction of a second pitch at the impressive new facilities.
