Kennedy keeps on scoring

LV Express

FALCONS 2000 continued its relentless attack on the Gippsland Soccer League championship with a 5-0 win over Traralgon City at Latrobe City Sports Stadium on Sunday.

After a tough win against Newborough Yallourn United last week, the Birds took a while to get going, but when they did it was to devastating effect as Kennedy opened the scoring from close range.

Kennedy scored his second after great link up play with player coach Nick D'Alessandro, and he completed his hat-trick before half-time.

After the break Falcons continued to dominate the match and added two more goals through D'Alessandro and Isaac Abas to run out 5-0 winners, keeping their four-point buffer at the top of the table in tact.

This week is Derby Day away to Fortuna in a match that Falcons will look to amend their only blemish this year, a 2-2 draw at home with the Orangemen in April.

Monash v Olympians

OLYMPIANS snatched an important 2-1 victory on the road to Monash, preserving fifth place on the competition ladder.

The visitor led 1-0 at the break and claimed all three points despite Ty Christy getting one back for the Wolves.

NYU v EGUFC

A hat-trick from winger Brandon Scott helped Newborough Yallourn United demolish East Gippsland United 7-0 at Burrage Reserve.

Scott relegated regular spearhead Dylan Fairbrother to a deputy role, with the latter netting a brace.

Adam and Andrew Batt added the icing with a goal each.

Pegasus v Fortuna

MORWELL Pegasus' weary season continued to drag along with an 8-0 loss at home to Fortuna.

Hayden Tanti ran riot with five goals, condemning the struggling Horsemen to another brutal loss.

Moe United v Trafalgar

FORMER golden boot winner Ash Birrell was back in scoring form for Moe, striking twice as the Red Devils dismissed Trafalgar Victory 7-0.

Birrell was one of five individual goal scorers on the day.

Sale United v Churchill United

SALE United triumphed 3-0 over Churchill in a match that had taken top billing for the past couple of seasons.

With the Rams enduring a downturn in 2015, the Swans ensured all three points with a clean display.
