BVDL STATISTICAL AWARD WINNERS

 

The Basketball Victoria D League 2012 Statistical awards have been confirmed today, with Nunawading Spectres sharp shooter Costa Hronopoulos winning his first scoring title averaging 21.4 ppg. Costa was a major offensive threat all season scoring 25+pts on four occasions, and 20+pts in eleven games. His highest scoring game was 29pts against Sandringham on 29th April.  Costa also showed that he was not just a consistent scorer, but he also won the Golden Hands Award with an average of 3.33 per game.

 

Knox Raiders Dean Johnson led the league in rebounds with 9.8rpg, edging out team mate Simon Grant by 0.09 of a rebound. Johnson has been a major threat on the boards in his first season, recording a season high 16 rebounds against Nunawading on 12th May.

 

Playing her first season in the D League, Frankston Lady Blues Carly Chatfield led the league in scoring with an average of 16.33ppg.  Chatfield scored a season best 28pts on two occasions, against Bendigo in th first game of the season, and again on the 6th May against Kilsyth.

 

Despite sitting out mid way through the season due to injury, Jacinta Vandenberg won her second consecutive Leading Rebounder title with an average 11.3rpg.  Jacinta recorded 10+ rebounds on 10 occasions, with a season best 20rebs on 17th June versus Ballarat.

 

Georgi Lovelace has been a consistent threat for the Dandenong Rangers all season and wins the Golden Hands Award with an average  of 2.33 per game.

The Golden Hands Award is determined by adding Assists and Steals, then subtracting the turnovers to give a total, and then averaged per game.
