Pitch for inclusion

SOCCER: Cobram Roar will make its case for inclusion in the Albury Wodonga Football Association to the association board next week.

The new entity — the product of a merger between Cobram Soccer Club and Cobram Victory — confirmed it would be making a presentation to the board on Monday in a Facebook post.

‘‘To date the steering committee has met eight times with all committee members working and focusing on a good positive outcome for the future of Cobram Roar,’’ the post said.

‘‘Work is well underway in drafting up a new club constitution for the Cobram Roar, which we believe will ensure good governance going forward.

‘‘Ongoing discussions with GNEFA and Albury Wodonga Football Association with regards to which competition the Cobram Roar will be participating in 2015, with a presentation to AWFA to be made on Monday, October 13, 2014.’’

The post also said responses to a recent survey about the direction of the new club were still coming in, but 80 per cent of those who had responded wanted a move out of Goulburn North East Football Association to AWFA.

The club said it would host an information night in the coming weeks for all supporters.
