CFFA - National Trials Starting This Weekend

The VCFA is pleased to confirm that our state representative teams now have coaches appointed.  We are particularly grateful to our volunteer coaches and managers who give their time to make the national carnival a success.  The coaches and managers have been appointed not only for their soccer prowess but also for their desire to uphold the core values that we at the VCFA hold so dear which is our sportsmanship, our demeanour off the field and the way in which they will treat each and every player under their care.  “God through Sport”.

Now that coaches are appointed the VCFA are now calling all players 12 years and older who have a desire to try out for selection to keep an eye out for notifications about tryouts in your particular age groups.

Please read the following details carefully before attending a trial:

The Tournament
The CFFA Nationals will be hosted in Sydney again this year at Narrabeen.

The Tournament starts at 4pm on Sunday, September 27th for the opening ceremony and concludes on Thursday October 1st, 2015.

Further information can be found at: www.cffa.org.au

Costs
The costs for attending the VCFA National tournament in 2015 will be between $600 and $750 depending on how much money is raised through team sponsorships and fundraising. The cost of $600 will only be if every team is sponsored and fundraising efforts have been successful. The VCFA subsidises the Nationals costs by 40% and our goal is to keep costs down to ensure maximum attendance, however to achieve this we are looking for clubs and players to look for ways of sponsorship to achieve the goal of lowest possible costs. If you have any input on sponsorships, please email gm@vcfa.org.au

If you are successful in trials and money is a reason you will not be able to attend, please speak with your coach or team manager. Financial assistance may be available depending on the circumstances.

For those who attended last year's nationals, the main reasons for the increases in costs are:
1. An additional day to the tournament schedule requiring accommodation and food
2. Accommodation for Juniors that is much closer to the grounds being more expensive, but meaning it will be easier for junior players to return to the accommodation once their matches are finished for the day
3. Players will get to keep their jerseys this year

Club Endorsement
This year the VCFA is asking that clubs endorse players to be selected from for representative teams. This endorsement is not one of a skill based endorsement but one of your club confirming your eligibility as being financial with your club and having played the prerequisite games this season.  Before attending a trial, please email gm@vcfa.org.au to register and cc a member of your club for endorsement.
Please email the following details:

Name:
Date of Birth:
Club:
Contact number:
Name of person at club: (e.g. the name of your coach)

If you have already registered for nationals, you do not need to take further action and are welcome to attend trials.

Finally, please keep an eye on the vcfa.org.au website for changes or other information.

Best wishes for all those players trialling for representative teams.

Thanks
David
