We're Relocating!

The Wanneroo Basketball Association's exciting HBF Arena relocation plans took another step forward today with the announcement of additional funding to deliver the redevelopment project.

Sport and Recreation Minister Mia Davies said the funds were allocated in the 2016-17 State Budget and brought the total State Government investment at the facility to $20 million.

“This project will transform community sporting facilities at HBF Arena,” Ms Davies said.

PROJECT UPDATE

A summary of the project's progress is provided below;

  • EMCO has been appointed to deliver new basketball and football facilities
  • EMCO is a multi-award winning commercial building company with a 30 year history of delivering quality infrastructure works in Western Australia.
  • EMCO will construct the full scope of works for both football and basketball, which include new function areas, new player amenities, football development services and administration/member facilities for the West Perth Football Club.
  • A new four court basketball stadium will be constructed at the front of HBF Arena, providing a new home for the Wanneroo Basketball Association.
  • As well as new courts, the basketball development will also include an administration area and player amenities.
  • The football and basketball project will complete the four part development, which has already seen an expansion to the netball courts and rugby fields at the venue.
  • VenuesWest on behalf of the State Government is proud to work with the City of Joondalup, LandCorp, Department of Finance, Department of Sport and Recreation, West Perth Football Club and Wanneroo Basketball Association.
  • With the appointment of the building company, the project is well on track for delivery in September 2017.
  • The $4m will go to infrastructure upgrades to support the football and basketball projects including car bays plus enhanced power, sewer services and landscaping.

 

The Wanneroo Basketball Association is entering what is clearly a very exciting phase in its history.

The facility relocation will further strengthen the VISION of being the ‘destination of choice for Basketball’.
