As the weather took a turn for the worst, the level of hockey being played got better.
2nd Men’s World League match which was played between Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea.
It was a tightly contested match with both teams looking for their first win of their respective campaigns.
But Papua New Guinea played with a bit more edge having lost their first World League match to Fiji yesterday 7-0.
They managed to come up with an emphatic win.

3 minutes from half-time, Sapau Tapo scored the only goal of the match.
Thomas Kahai, the PNG Men’s coach was pleased with his boys performance coming off of a heavy loss to Fiji Men yesterday. “After the loss to Fiji yesterday we looked at our errors and really marked on that. We went ahead with our game plan today against Vanuatu and we came up on top.”
In regards to preparation towards their next tough match against NZ Maori he said they plan to work on their composure and attacking game.
