Star Profile - Orlan Jackman - Crusaders

Coming off an outstanding BBL rookie season for London Lions, England International forward Orlan Jackman will suit up for Medway Park Crusaders in London Summer League.

The 24 year old, 6'6" Jackman came through the renowned Hackney White Heat junior programme and also spent a year with legendary youth coach Joe Forbes at Manchester Magic, before heading off to high school in California.

After two years at junior college Jackman transferred to Oklahoma City University playing in the Sooner Athletic Conference in the NAIA, after being ruled ineligible by the NCAA due to having an educational break. Jackman got on with the job at Oklahoma and by his final year he was leading the team in both scoring (13.4 points per game) and rebounding (8 rebounds per game).

Last Summer Lions Head Coach Vince Macauley snapped Jackman knowing that he was a ready made pro. He proved the Lions play-caller absolutely right averaging 16 points and 7.7 rebounds per game and winning rave reviews, even when Lions were struggling before Christmas.

His consistency was vital in Lions successful charge for the BBL play-offs, where he gave Great Britain captain Andrew Sullivan once of his toughest match-ups in the narrow defeat to eventual BBL Champions Leicester Riders.

Sullivan has tipped Jackman as a future Great Britain International and the Londoner was rewarded at the end of the 2012/13 campaign by being named on the BBL All-British Team of Season and earning an England call-up for the two game series with Scotland.

In London Summer League, Jackman will team up with fellow BBL forward and England International Joe Ikhinmwin in a formidable Crusaders front court. With leading EBL point guard Lukas Volskis also in the squad, Crusaders will be title contenders.
