There were important wins for five clubs as the battle for a top four finish intensifies across the competition.

Brisbane City FC  1 (Antonio MURRAY 90’p)
Moreton Bay United FC  2 (Royce BROWNLIE 70’ 72’p)

Moreton Bay United kept their Premiership hopes on track following a 2-1 win over Brisbane City at Corporate Travel Management on Friday night.

Royce Brownlie delivered a second half brace for the visitors before Antonio Murray struck a consolation from the penalty spot in the final minute.

The result extends Jets unbeaten run to four games and secures the club a league double over City this season.

Redlands United FC  1 (Graham FYFE 54’)
Palm Beach SC  0

Redlands United affirmed their Final Series aspirations following a 1-0 win over Palm Beach SC at Cleveland Showgrounds on Saturday.

Player-coach Graham Fyfe delivered his ninth goal of the season early in the second half to seal the points for the hosts, who recorded only their second clean sheet of the 2015 campaign.

Red Devils goalkeeper Brendan White said post-match, “We lost one-nil to them down at Palm Beach so we really wanted to turn the result around and we did today just really putting together a ninety minute performance.”

SWQ Thunder FC  1 (Tom FANNING 30’)
Olympic FC  6 (Tim SMITS 2’ 9’, Danny BYRNE 40’ 63’ 65’, Matt BYRNE 85’)

Tim Smits moved top of the Golden Boot race after striking twice in Olympic FC’s 6-1 win over SWQ Thunder at Clive Berghofer Stadium on Saturday.

Smits’ haul was complemented by a hat-trick to Olympic skipper Danny Byrne, while Matt Byrne rounded out the result with the visitor’s final goal.

The result continues Thunder’s winless PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland 2015 season - with the club yet to add to their single point earned in the second round against Brisbane Roar Youth.

Thunder coach Chris Wilkes said post-match, “Apart from the first 15 or 20 (mintues) of the second half, where we played the way we expected to play, Olympic totally dominated.”

Brisbane Strikers FC  0
FNQ FC Heat  0

Brisbane Strikers fell two points behind in the Premiership race after settling for a 0-0 draw with FNQ Heat at Perry Park on Saturday.

Neither side was able to deliver the breakthrough in a sometimes dour contest that saw both goalkeepers rarely troubled as Strikers recorded their sixth clean sheet of the season.

The result extends Strikers current unbeaten run to four games but also sees the club cede ground to league-leaders Moreton Bay United ahead of the pair’s top-of-the-table clash next weekend.

Heat coach Martin Docherty said post-match, “I’m proud of the fact that we didn’t concede a goal but disappointed that we didn’t manage to jag one in the second half.”

Western Pride FC  4 (Todd NORRIS 7’, Joe DUCKWORTH 15’ 45’, Harrison SAWYER 90+1’)
Brisbane Roar FC Youth  2 (Dane INGHAM 33’, Daniel LECK 52’)

Western Pride delivered Brisbane Roar Youth their second loss in a row following a 4-2 win at Briggs Road Complex on Saturday.

A brace to Joe Duckworth was complemented by goals to Todd Norris and Harrison Sawyer for Pride's second win since April.

Young Roar’s goals came courtesy of Dane Ingham and Daniel Leck either side of half-time - marking the first PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland senior goals for both players.

Interim Pride coach Karla Reuter said post-match, “They really wanted that tonight and I guess in a sense they had a point to prove after our spanking of twelve-nil against those guys last time.”

Sunshine Coast FC  1 (Jacob FULLUCK 70’p)
Northern Fury FC  3 (Joe THORNTON 55’, Jake PERRY 80’, Tristan RUSSELL 90’)

Northern Fury extended Sunshine Coast FC’s winless run to six matches following a 3-1 result at Sunshine Coast Stadium on Sunday.

Fire's Jacob Fulluck cancelled out Joe Thornton's second-half opener before the visitors finished strongly to claim the points on the back of goals to Jake Perry and Tristan Russell.

The result overturns a two match losing streak for Fury and returns them to the top half of the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland ladder.

Fury coach Ian Ferguson said post-match, “I was really pleased with the movement I got from the wider players and through the middle and I think that caused them a few problems today.”
