Social Media Support Olympic & Strikers

Football clubs from around Queensland are showing their support via social media for Brisbane Strikers and Olympic FC in tonight's Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 fixtures.

Strikers have arrived in Newcastle for their tie with Broadmeadow Magic, to be televised live on Fox Sports 3 from 7:30pm.

Olympic kick-off at the same time at their Goodwin Park base in Brisbane against former National Soccer League champions Melbourne Knights.

While rivals in weekly league competition, many NPL Queensland clubs have lent their support to their fellow Queenslanders ahead of the historic fixtures.

Townsville club Northern Fury tweeted: "Good luck to @BneStrikers & @Olympic_FC in the @FFACup matches tonight. #Queenslander"

Fellow tropical Queensland club FNQ FC Heat, who play their Westfield FFA Cup match against Sydney United 58 on August 12, also tweeted: "Good luck to fellow Queensland teams Strikers and Olympic as they kick off their FFA Cup campaigns tonight."

A-League club Brisbane Roar also got in on the act, tweeting: "Best of luck to fellow Queensland teams @bnestrikers and @Olympic_FC in their @FFACup Round of 32 matches tonight! #GoRoar #Queenslander"

Brisbane's community clubs have also ackowledged the importance of the clash.

Centenary Stormers, who Olympic defeated 6-0 in the Football Queensland Cup as part of the qaulifying pathway, tweeted: "Good luck to fellow Queenslanders @Olympic_FC as they take on @MelbKnights tonight in the @FFACup."
