Ex Sunshine Coast Futsal Player Rebekah Stott scored a cracking goal against China just recently at the 2015 Women's World Cup but unfortunately after drawing the game, NZ Football Ferns exited the competition.

Rebekah played a lot of futsal with SCFA as a junior and represented Queensland many times at the National Futsal Championships.  Rebekah was apart of the Qld Open Women's futsal team that won the Australian title at the FFA National Futsal Championships held in Canberra back in 2010.

 

She was also the Golden Boot winner for the competition and she scored a memorable goal in the Grand Final against ACT to secure the win with only approximately one minute remaining in the game.

New Zealand may not have qualified for the next stage of the Women's World Cup at Canada but former Sunshine Coaster Rebekah Stott still has some cause for celebration, after scoring a goal on the sport's biggest stage

Stott hit the back of the net in the side's 2-2 draw with China in its final group game.

Born in New Zealand, Stott lived on the Sunshine Coast during her teenage years.

She represented Australia at under-17 and under-20 level before choosing to represent her birth country at senior level.

The 21-year-old has since played 42 games for the Ferns.

At club level she has played for Melbourne Victory and is now with SC Sand in Germany.
