Stadium Scoring

Over the next few weeks, teams will begin to see us transition towards replacing paper score sheets with computerised score sheets for all games. Initially, we will be trialing the software solution on selected games on both Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Stadium Scoring uses technology that most members and their scorers will be familiar with, and provides benefits to both the committee and teams:

• Match results will be immediately available at the end of each game night, significantly reducing the amount of volunteer hours spent entering results. Ladders will update almost instantaneously.
• Individual statistics for total points scored and fouls will be available for each member.
• We eliminate common mistakes made on paper score sheets, and ultimately provide a better service to all of our teams.

The system comes at no cost to the Association as part of our ‘Basketball Network’ agreement with Basketball Australia, and the computers provided for the system are donated by Basketball Victoria Country.

Committee members will be on hand to teach members how to use the new system over the first few weeks of its introduction. Our umpires will also undergo training, and we would encourage you to also ask them for help where necessary.

Paper score sheets will be on hand in case we face any technical difficulties. If you see the system in use, feel free to ask to give it a go! As our members become more comfortable with the technology, we envisage that it will replace paper score sheets for all games.
