AFL Canberra are pleased to announce the Women's team to play AFL Sydney this Sunday at Gungahlin Enclosed Oval. This Women's game will be Game One in the now Annual State of Origin 2 Game Series which has been played in 2012 & 2014. The Canberra side currently hold a 2-0 against their Sydney counterparts.
The weekends game will also have an increased significance, with the game classed as the NSW/ACT Draft Game to identify talented players before the 2015 Women's National Draft on April 20 at Etihad Stadium.
If any of the Canberra of Sydney players are drafted, they will have the opportunity to play in two exhibition matches between Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs.
Melbourne Football Club will host the first game at the MCG on May 24 in a double header with the Western Bulldogs.
