Each club is encouraged to nominate an outstanding volunteer as their Club Volunteer of the Year and also recognise anyone within their club who has given more than 10 years of service to our game. The volunteer may have contributed to the completion of a major or significant project throughout the year or they may be someone who has contributed in a number of roles over a long period.
CLUB VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
General Selection criteria
1. Must have given notable voluntary service to Australian Football.
2. Must be a willing, voluntary contributor, having received no income from football (NB honoraria excepted).
3. Must be an ambassador for the game of football who acts and works for the best interest of the game, never bringing the game into disrepute.
4. Those making nominations should make no more than one nomination.
To nominate a volunteer at your club please completing the attached nomination form and submit to taleah.neowhouse@aflnswact.com.au or via post PO Box 333, Strawberry Hills NSW 2012.
Club Volunteer of the Year winner prize
Each club nominated volunteer will receive a $50 gift card along with a certificate. Please note gift certificates will only be presented to 1 club nominated volunteer per club.
Each League will then be responsible for evaluating their Club Volunteer nominations and ultimately determine their League Volunteer of the Year.
League Volunteer of the Year winner prize
The League volunteer of the year will receive $250 worth of gift vouchers and a plaque to be presented at the League Presentation.
All League Volunteer recipients will then be evaluated on their outstanding service to the game and a State Volunteer of the Year will be decided.
State Volunteer of the Year winner prize
• 2 x tickets to the AFL Official Function at the Toyota AFL Grand Final
• 2 x return flights & accommodation for 3 nights (Thurs – Sat) in Melbourne for Grand Final weekend
• The opportunity to walk in the Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade

• Nominations must be submitted in electronic format by COB Friday 7th August, 2015
• Late submissions will not be considered

When completing the online nomination form, the person nominating the volunteer should use the general information field to provide a full and comprehensive history of the volunteer’s service. Past involvement with clubs, other than the nominating club should be detailed. All details should be provided via the nomination form. Attachments cannot be included.
MERIT AWARD
The AFL Merit Awards are a long standing initiative to recognise outstanding service to Australian Football.
Each Club is invited to nominate AFL Merit Award recipient from their club who has contributed more than 10 years of service to the game.
Club Merit Award Winners
Each Club nominated Merit Award nominee will receive a $50 gift card along with a certificate.
The state will then review all club nominated Merit Award winners and will determine the top 2 recipients to be awarded the State Merit Award winners.
AFL Merit Award winners receive:
• An AFL Merit Award Certificate personally signed by the AFL Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman of the AFL Commission.
• Added to the honour board of less than 600 Merit Award winners dating back to 1931.
Nomination process:
• Nominations must be submitted in electronic format by COB Wednesday 29th July, 2015
• Late submissions will not be considered
