Eastlake Football Club is pleased to announce Rebecca Hall has accepted the role as AFL
Canberra Women’s Coach for the 2016 season.
Hall has been involved with the Club since 2008 having originally played with ANU and has
played in a number of premierships with the Club more recently in 2015 and has been a regular
representative player for the ACT taking her tally to over a combined 200 games.
Following the departure of Carli Shillito and Michael Grace at the end of the season, Hall sees it
as the right time to take on the role having been a playing assistant coach this season.
“The Club and the women’s team have been great to me as a player and I cherish the friendships
I have built up with a number of my teammates over the past number of seasons. To take the
next step and now coach the team is really exciting for me personally” Hall said.
“We had around 9 to 10 girls new to the game this season, so if we can build on that, the
immediate future of the team is really looking good and women’s footy is continue to grow and
develop as a whole” she further added.
“Bek has been a fantastic leader on the field and her achievements are well known amongst the
women’s grade. The work Carli and Michael was rewarded with a premiership this season and
believe Bek is the ideal replacement for the 2016 season” said Football Manager Stephen
Soulsby.
The team will commence pre – season in the new year.
