On 28th April, 2007 Cam Evans and James Victory both played their first game of Aussie Rules in the Under 8 Jets Black team. In Round 1, 2016 at Arctic Park the Gungahlin Jets celebrated with 2 of its most loyal clubmen, who both played their 150th game for the club.
In the 9 years since that first game Cam and James have both captained club sides and between them collected 4 Players’ Player Awards, a Club Best and Fairest, 2 Junior Club-person Awards, represented the ACT and served on the committee as the Player representative.
Together, they have demonstrated great sportsmanship on the field and loyalty off it, having stuck by the club as it evolved from humble beginnings to a bona fide force in junior footy. A great testament of the character of two of Gungahlin’s finest.
"We expect our players to compete hard when wearing the jumper and to set a high standard as representatives of our Club particularly when around our community. Cam's actions show that he prides himself and is a leader at doing both. Reaching a 150 games is a huge milestone at any age or level of football." Tim Hull, Gungahlin Jets U17s Coach
On the behalf of AFL Canberra and ActewAGL, we would like to congratulate Cam and James on their milestone with the Gungahlin Jets.
