The Molonglo Football Club is today pleased to announce that Senator Zed Seselja, has accepted the position of Club Patron for 2014.
The Club Patron with the Molonglo Football Club sees Senator Seselja take on a key role with the hope that it will continue to grow the Molonglo Football Club brand across Weston Creek and Molonglo.
Junior Club President Tim MacDonald had first approached Senator Seselja after having talked to him about junior sport and the community during the junior cricket season when their two sons played against each other.
“I was extremely honoured to be asked to be the Molonglo Football Club Patron for 2014,” Senator Seselja said today.
“It has been a privilege to work with the Junior Club President, Tim MacDonald, over the past couple of months and as a father of five children, I’m grateful for the work they do in promoting community sport particularly for the youth in the Molonglo area”.
“By providing opportunities for talented young men and women to play Aussie Rules, the Molonglo Football Club is making a valuable contribution to the strength and spirit of the local community”.

Being a Canberra local and a proud family man, the values that Zed represents are what we as a Club stand for and we are looking forward to working with Zed to promote the football club throughout the season”, Mr MacDonald concluded.
The Molonglo Football Club is a made up of two teams playing in the senior men’s AFL Canberra Competition, a women’s team, under the Juggernauts banner, while there are eleven teams in junior football playing for the Wildcats from Auskick Rookies to under 13s and Youth Girls.
The Juggernauts are currently celebrating their 20th anniversary this season, while the Wildcats are currently in there 42nd season.
