Both the Queanbeyan Tigers and Ainslie Tricolours have had very consistent seasons this year, and Saturday's
Grand Final could go down to the wire.
Queanbeyan finished the season on top of the ladder, losing only lose two games for the year, one of which
was to the Tri Colours.
Ainslie finished a close second on the ladder, winning 15 of their 18 games played.
When the two teams went head to head in the semi-finals, Queanbeyan came out on top, however, Ainslie
don’t look ready to throw in the towel just yet, and Coach Paul Neiberding says that the team will come out
fighting.
“The last few times we have played Queanbeyan, we have only lost by a couple of goals, so I don’t think that
they have the advantage. We are going to come out and continue to play hard, competitive footy and I am
backing my boys,” says Neiberding.
Queanbeyan Coach Paul Campbell says his team is also not ready to surrender.
“Ainslie and Queanbeyan have always had a really good rivalry. They have won the last two premierships in a
row so we are going to do everything we can to make sure they don’t make it three. We are hoping to
capitalize on a good season”.
With both teams eager to take home the Premiership title, the game could go either way, however with
Queanbeyan’s track record this season; they may have the upper hand.
