About the Opportunity.
AFL SportsReady currently has a number of exciting position available for someone wanting to pursue a career in the sport industry. In this position, you will be legally employed by AFL SportsReady for a 12 month duration and undertake a traineeship with an accredited Certificate III Sport and Recreation qualification. Working for our Host Employer; AFL NSW/ACT the successful trainee will receive paid on the job training and education. Multiple positions available in Canberra.
Overview:
The Trainee Development Officer is responsible for the delivery of all junior development programs in schools and their local community. The position will be key in driving the integration of junior development and club football, supporting participation growth.
Job Task/Profile:
Under the guidance of the Participation and Talent/Coaching Manager and in partnership with local clubs a Trainee Development Officer will work in the flowing areas:
- Assist with the delivery of Auskick Program
- Assist with the delivery of all School Programs
- Junior Clubs
- Assist with the delivery of Special Programs
- Community AFL
- Assist with other AFL and local club initiatives as directed.
Skills & Experience:
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to coach children
- Computer literacy
- Ability to work well within a team
- Excellent written verbal and communication skills
- Demonstrated Organisational skills
- Due to the nature of the sporting industry ability to occasionally work outside of normal business hours
- Understanding of junior and senior football
- Must have a current drivers licence and vehicle
- Must be an Australian Citizen
