The Gungahlin Jets Australian Football Club is please to announce the appointment of its seniors and reserves coaches for the 2015 season. The Jets have appointed Adrian Pavese as Head Coach.
Speaking at the Club’s Presentation Night on Saturday, Rohan Wilson, Seniors President said
“Adrian brings a wealth of coaching experience and will be a great fit for the club. He is committed to developing a strong base for the club into the future.”
In 2014 Pavese was Senior Assistant Coach for Queanbeyan’s NEAFL team. In 2013 Corowa Rutherglen in the Ovens and Murray League had the benefit of Adrian as its Senior Coach. For the previous five years, he was the Queanbeyan First Grade Coach, taking the Tigers to premierships in 2009, 2010, and 2011. He was also the Tigers Senior Assistant Coach to the NEAFL side.
Adrian comes to the club with 23 years coaching experience and an immense knowledge of the game. In terms of on field success, he has coached in 11 grand finals with 7 premierships.
Pav also has a great commitment to womens football. This year he coached the 2014 ACT Womens Representative side.
In 2012 he was awarded the AFL Canberra Coaching Legacy Award.
In 2011, Pav was named AFL ACT/NSW Coach of the Year.
“Pav’s role here at the club will be the Head Coach role, but he will also take on the role of Director of Coaching. This role will see him extend his reach into womens football and junior football at the Jets. This is all part of the strategy for developing quality coaching at the club,” Rohan Wilson said when announcing the appointment.
“This appointment, combined with new facilities at Gungahlin Enclosed Oval and our emphasis on developing pathways for juniors into senior ranks, we continue along the path of sustainable development as a strong football club”, he said.
Reserves Best and Fairest for 2014, Kris Milne, has been appointed Reserves coach for 2015. The Gungahlin Jets welcome expressions of interest for coaching its Rising Stars and Womens teams.
