Eastlake Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of former Queanbeyan players Sam
Jensen, Brandon Lagana and Stephen Camp for the next two NEAFL seasons.
Former NSW / ACT Rams representative and 2012 Queanbeyan premiership player Sam Jensen
has made the move to Eastlake and believes the move will provide him with a fresh start in the
NEAFL having played senior football since the age of 15.
“It was a tough decision to leave Queanbeyan with the support they had given me along with the
involvement I had with the Club over a long period but the opportunity to continue on at NEAFL
level is something I want to do and playing for Eastlake allows me to do that,” said Jensen.
Meanwhile Lagana sees his signing with Eastlake has an opportunity to continue his personal
development he has experienced over the past two seasons with Queanbeyan.
“Queanbeyan gave me opportunities this year to play some NEAFL footy which was really great.
I’m looking forward to pre – season with my goal over the next two seasons to play consistent
NEAFL footy and to play the best footy I can at this level,” said Lagana.
Camp’s move to Eastlake allows him to further his NEAFL involvement.
“The Tigers have given me great support with my football and I look forward to the opportunities
at NEAFL level which Eastlake has given me for the next 2 seasons. Like Sam, it provides me with
a fresh start and to push for greater opportunities to play NEAFL footy,” said Camp.
New Head Coach Ben Waite was pleased with the signings, commenting on how impressed he
was on their approach to state league football.
“All three players have a desire to play at the highest level possible in which as a Club we can
provide. They (Sam, Brandon and Stephen) have a great mindset and understanding of what is
required to put the Club in a position where we can improve on the 2014 season,” said Waite.
“The beauty about being a new Coach is that all players both existing and new have a clean slate
and we have structured a pre – season to ensure we get the best out of all players in preparation
for the 2015 NEAFL season ”
