Round 8 of the AFL Canberra First Grade season saw the Tuggeranong Hawks produce their biggest win of the year comprehensively defeating Eastlake at Greenway Oval.

The Hawks set up the huge win with an eight goals to one opening turn and never looked back, ramming home 31 majors to run away 175 point winners.
There were plenty of goals to be had for the Hawks with veteran duo Jay Kickett and Ashley Pocock winding back the clock and combing for 14 majors.
Other experienced campaigners Dave Smith and Chris Robinson were also superb for the Hawks, while Cody Kickett continued his recent purple patch and Ben McCabe was also a standout.
For the Demons there was little to celebrate after the heavy defeat, with Sam Short the Demons best performer in a disappointing day.
On the other side of Canberra, Queanbeyan were able to overcome a persistent Gungahlin Jest side, eventually prevailing by 26 points.
Inaccuracy could have cost the Tigers who entered the final term just five points in front, but the more experienced Tigers outfit were able to step up in the final quarter and keep the Jets goalless to come away with the win.
Youngsters Matthew Grocott, Jarrod Thompson and Mitch Price were all stand outs for the Tigers while Alec McCormick was solid in defence all day.
Gungahlin defender Nick Cooke continued his fine season with another good display, while midfielder Dan Ledda did all he could to help the Jets to their first win in seven weeks.
In the final game of the round, Belconnen continued on their unbeaten season comfortably accounting for Ainslie.
The Magpies led from start to finish and were never really troubled by the Tri Colours, running out 63 point winners.
The Magpies were dominant through the midfield with ruckman Brenton Joyce giving his midfield of Isaac Taylor James and Lexie Bennet first use in a polished display.
Young midfielder Tom Powell was exciting for the Tri Colours while defenders Max Richardson and Jake Heip battled hard all day.
