Club history project underway…
Willetton Basketball Club is keen to record the history of our club.
In this respect, we are delighted to announce that we have our much needed history project underway. We will start with compiling our SBL history since the SBL started in 1989, collating all player statistics, team officials, game officials, etc, and taking every opportunity to compile all the history we can about committees and volunteers involved in our club in the process.
The information will be used as seen fit, with one of the main aims being to showcase the extraordinary efforts over the years of players, officials, volunteers / committees, staff and the characters, who have made the club what it is today.
The project will be driven by Brock & June Halliday, Bill Friday, and assisted by Narell Black in pre SBL times of the club.
While the initial focus is since 1989 when the SBL started, it is our intention to cover as far back as we can when the club was formed.
We ask that anyone (past or present) from our club who has any information (year books, articles, photos, anecdotes, etc) who could make it available for this project, please contact June Halliday on firstname.lastname@example.org and June will liaise with you at a mutually convenient time.
Material can be left at the office, carefully marked with your name, for use as authorized by each donor, and returned to you when the history group has finished with it.
We have started receiving bits and pieces of information and memorabilia from the history of the Willetton Basketball Association. As we put all the pieces together we will endeavour to update via the website with interesting snatches such as this 1990 photo. Remember, if you have any items you think may be of interest, you can contact June at email@example.com.
Patrons will see the work unfold as each stage is reached.
We are excited about this project and thank everyone for their co-operation.
