Basketball Fiji invites applications for the position of Competitions Officer to join its Operational Team.

The main objective of the role is to ensure that our competitions program and schedule runs at the standard that has been set by Basketball Fiji in the past years.

The position represents a unique and challenging opportunity. We are looking for people with experience in similar positions at the National Level with sound coaching knowledge of the game, high level management skills and excellent communication skills and are team players.

Duties of the Competitions Officer include but are not limited to the following:

• Develop effective competition schedules
• Manage, co-ordinate, deliver or provide support to BF’s competition programs
• Support associations deliver their calendar of events
• Work with COO on competition frameworks & implementing National Basketball League
• Analyze competition needs in conjunction with the COO
• Liaise with a wide range of people involved in the running of a competition, be it the coach/manager of club teams, School teachers, school principals and representatives, Officials, Referees, Association reps and Partners
• Work in a team to produce competitions that are satisfactory to all relevant parties in the organization, such as players, spectators, office staff, board members and partners
• Ensure that the roles and responsibilities of all individuals involved in the delivery of the competition are clarified and documented
• Encourage and utilize FIBA Organizer and 3x3 planet
• Promote and run 3x3 events 
• Prepare tournament and inventory report within 14 days of the event 
• Ensure that all competition requirements and administrative needs are met
• Amend and revise competition programs as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment
• Co-operate with the Fiji Sports Council in complying with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of this post
• Maintain confidentiality, observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate
• Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall functions of this post
