SHOOTATHON RAISES FUNDS

President Iowane Naivalurua opened the Shootathon at 7.00am and wished the players well in their endeavours during the day.  It was a very tired lot of players that made their way home at night.

While the day was filled with lots of basketball, in true Fiji style food was always at the center of it all.  Players and families were treated to a cooked breakfast at 9.00am and later lunch was provided for all.  And stiil there was sufficient to feed the hungry hordes well into the evening.

The afternoon session comprised several scrimmages and the players got to show their stuff before the coaches who will make the final selection for the 10 players in each team this week.

The day finished at 7.00pm - the 12 hours being completed.  During the lunch break several parents made it onto the court to show their kids that they also know how to score.  Everyone agreed it was a real fun day and we should have more like this for families to participate, however we are not sure that hard working manager Mere Ritova would agree with this.  Mere was at the Raiwaqa court well before 6.00am to get it all organized and finished well after the last player left at night.
