Active After-school Communities update

Dear Noosa District Basketball Association

Thank you for your valuable contribution to the Active After-school Communities (AASC) program. As you may be aware, the AASC program will conclude at the end of 2014, with a new program, Sporting Schools, set to launch in July 2015. Sporting Schools will provide an opportunity for organisations in the AASC program to deliver sporting sessions to children under a new model. 

The quality of programs that organisations have provided to the AASC program has helped to achieve our outcome of providing ongoing opportunities for participation in sport and physical activity.

As an organisation, your commitment to the program has had a positive impact on local communities throughout Australia by creating a fun experience for all children to develop a love of sport that motivates them to get active for life.

Sporting Schools will allow us to continue our focus of encouraging children to develop a connection with sport. By introducing this new initiative we want to reach more children across Australia to allow them access to quality coaches and sport based activity.

The focus of Sporting Schools will change to expose children to activities within their school setting, before, during and after school hours and will also aim to bring local sporting communities and schools closer together.

The AASC program will continue as normal through to the end of this year and your continued involvement is encouraged.

Once again I would like to thank you for your support of the AASC program and I look forward to your interest in the future Sporting Schools initiative. I will ensure that you are kept up to date with information on the new program as it develops, including how you can become involved.
