2012 SGB Rd 9 Bulldogs v Penrith

Bulldogs OLD

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have qualified for the SG Ball semi finals after defeating a star-studded Penrith Panthers outfit 26-18 at Belmore Sports Ground on Saturday 7th April 2012.

The Bulldogs needed to win at all costs to hold onto their spot in the top eight with the Roosters and Parramatta both enjoying very easy victories in their respective SG Ball matches.

It was a near faultless first half by the Bulldogs as they raced to an 18-0 lead.

Penrith came out stronger in the second half and got the score back to 18-12, but a penalty goal from the Bulldogs pushed the margin out to eight points heading into the final ten minutes.

The Panthers breathed life back into the match when they scored to cut the margin to two points, but a late try from the Bulldogs sealed victory and confined Parramatta to missing out on the finals.

Best for the Bulldogs were Mitchell Mamary, Jack Creighton, Jaelyn Feeney and Costner Lemafa.

The Bulldogs will host the Roosters in week one of the finals at the Belmore Sports Ground on Saturday 14th April 2012 with kick off at 3.00pm. The loser of the clash is eliminated with the winner progressing to week two.
