Paul Noack aka Feathers has been appointed as the Sapphire Coast’s Senior Coach to lead the Stingrays up the Clyde to clash with a combined Regional and division four AFL Canberra outfit on Saturday the 6th of June at Gungahlin Enclosed Oval, Canberra.
The Stingrays will be looking to bounce back from a tough loss against AFL South Coast in 2014 when they went down by 48 points against an experienced and skilful AFL South Coast side. With a number of young players emerging and returning in 2015 Noack will have at his disposal a number of capable younger stars able to perform at the representative level which he can complement with some experienced players in the program.
Noack brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience to the senior position having previously taken on the senior role when the Stingrays ventured to Wagga Wagga for a highly successful weekend of football whilst taking on the game day coaching role in last years return of representative football to the senior competition.
With Noack currently taking the reigns of the 2014 premiership under 13 Pambula Panthers whilst running the bench coaching role for the senior team, football operations coordinator Jarrod Moore acknowledged the program was in good hands.
‘Paul is a fantastic guy on and off the field whilst he has shown over the number of years he has been involved with senior and junior football at club and league level that he is a great operator and a very tactical coach. Feathers (Noack) has the ability to gain the respect from the playing group, both young and old which is ideal when getting guys together from different clubs and styles of play. I have no doubt that the guys that are selected for the team will be raring to go against the AFL Canberra guys and really look to show them what we are about on the coast.’
The initial squad will get together to train next Monday, the following Monday and Thursday at the Bega Showgrounds in preparation for the trip up to Canberra. Following the Sapphire Coast AFL’s game, AFL South Coast will take on a AFL Canberra division three side.
