Round Preview
Merimbula v Narooma
Merimbula come off a solid win against finals hopeful's Bega last week to make the statement to the rest of the competition that they are the number one challenger to Pambula’s unbeaten season and title aspirations. They take on a Narooma team who are improving week in week out and will fancy that they can make a real game of it this weekend. With home ground to the Diggers and some of their star midfield starting to click towards the back end of the season they should be too strong for the Lions outfit who have been blooding some good young talent in recent weeks.
Player to Watch– William Jackson. The boy from Skipton looked at home in the SCAFL for the lions last week among their best.
Pambula v Bermagui
Coming off a tough three point last weekend against the Sea Eagles, Bermagui’s chances of making the finals now hang by a thread and it doesn't get much tougher than this weekend as they take on top of the table Pambula. The Panthers have been on a role in recent weeks with the club being able to remain relatively healthy throughout the 2015 season. With Justin Pilgrim back from injury and making his mark spots are hard to come by within the Panthers line up.
Player to Watch– Aaron Proctor. After a relatively slow start to the season Aaron is now putting in a great back end of the season.
Bega v Tathra
Last time these sides met the Bombers romped to a comfortable win against the Sea Eagles during their Comedians and Footballers event. A few individuals within the Tathra camp weren't to happy with the result in the round eight clash and the club will be looking to turn the tables in this match. Tathra have been involved in some classic matches this season and the team will be hoping to come out on top if the score is close going into the final stages of the fourth quarter. Winner will go into third so high stakes in this match.
Player to Watch– Chris Dwyer. These matches are where the coach needs to stand up and be counted to get the win.
Under 16’s
Narooma will be at their most vulnerable this weekend as Liam Clothier and Zak Wilson participate in the curtain raiser to the GWS match, Jackson Taylor to play in Canberra and Jai Reed still on state duties. This will please the Diggers players as this is a great opportunity for the Lions to succumb to their first loss of the season. The Lions will still be strong this weekend and should be a cracking match between the two clubs. In the other match Pambula take on Bega where the Panthers will look to continue their dominance over the Bombers in 2015. The Panthers were impressive last weekend against the Lions in their loss whilst the Bombers will be hoping to emulate their form the last time they took on the Panthers at Pambula Sports Complex where they went down by under a goal.
Under 13’s
Some very interesting games in the 13’s this weekend as the Giants will look to claim their first win of the season against the Bombers at home this weekend. The Giants have been improving throughout 2015 and will be aiming to break through this weekend. In another cracking match Pambula (1st) will take on Bermagui (3rd) at home. The Breakers have recently recruited 4 new girls off the back of the Youth girls tournament in Nowra and are contributing well to Bermagui’s already powerful team. Pambula were a little sluggish last weekend and will be looking to close out this weekends match strongly. In the final game the Diggers host the Lions in another entertaining fixture. The Lions nearly pipped the Panthers last weekend whilst the Diggers accounted Bega.
Under 11’s
Unpredictability is one way to describe the under 11’s competition with all matches up for grabs on a given weekend. Bermagui come off their strong win last weekend and will be looking to make it two in a row against the Panthers this weekend who will look to continue their strong form. The Giants will be looking to get back on track against the Lions at home this weekend and remain 2nd.
