The nation-wide knockout competition is open to all men’s Premier Competition Clubs and Senior Zone Member Clubs. Northern NSW Football is responsible for conducting the Preliminary Rounds of the Westfield FFA Cup and identifying two winners to represent Northern NSW in the Round of 32 stage. The two qualifying clubs will then be drawn against opposition from across the country, potentially even a Hyundai A-League Club.
Due to travel distances and time restraints, the Preliminary Rounds of the competition will be divided into two pools, the Northern Pool and the Southern Pool.
The Northern Pool will comprise of club teams from Football Mid North Coast, North Coast Football, Northern Inland Football and Football Far North Coast. From these club teams, the last remaining two will participate in the NNSWF Finals Series, representing the Northern Pool.
The Southern Pool will be split into two further sub-pools, the first comprising of National Premier Leagues Clubs and the second comprising of NEWFM 1st Division Clubs, as well as club teams from Newcastle Football, Macquarie Football and Hunter Valley Football. From these club teams, the last remaining six will participate in the NNSWF Finals Series, representing the Southern Pool.
Round One of the Westfield FFA Cup will commence in February 2015, with the format to be determined based on the final number of nominations received.
The entry fee for the Westfield FFA Cup is $750 for a National Premier Leagues Club, and $300 for a NEWFM 1st Division Club or Zone club team, inclusive of all Match Official fees. NNSWF encourages all clubs to participate in the Westfield FFA Cup and support this exciting new initiative in Australian Football!
Nominations close Monday 8th December, 2014.
