Formerly known as Old Westbourne, the new Wyndham Suns Football Club was created over the off-season and is ready to get amongst all the action this weekend according to Club administrator Val Lear.
Number of teams this year:
We are fielding 5x junior teams this season.
Pre-season News:
At our AGM last October it was unanimously voted to change our club name from Old Westbourne to Wyndham Suns, officially launching our new playing strip and club song at registration our day on 9th February. Our club rooms are in the process of being built and watching the progress is exciting for our players and parents.
We have an extremely dedicated and hard working committee who is dedicated to providing all our members with the best possible club we can after moving, there has been no break for the committee during the off season, rebranding a club is a long and arduous job, but the rewards are well worth it. To see our players and parents reaction to our new jumper and club song has made it all worthwhile.
Expectations for 2014:
For the club to grow and become known in the community which is something we have lacked in the past. Now that we are based at a council ground, we have an opportunity to be seen.
Staff/coaching changes:
We welcome Michael Andrew as our coach for the Under 16s and welcome Tony Costa back to the Under 14s.
Training details for juniors:
• Under 9/10 Mondays 5 to 6pm
• Under 11s Mon and Friday 5.15 to 6.15pm
