The future is looking bright at the Yarraville Seddon Eagles, with some big name recruits, a new coach and some home grown talent set to make an impact down at Yarraville Oval this year, according to president Tony Sticca.
Number of teams this year:
This year we will have 11 to 12 teams on the field this year ranging from Under 9s to seniors.
Pre-season News:
Attendance has been good from the seniors and Under 18s ranks, and has been steadily increasing each week during the off-season which is really pleasing.
Expectations for 2014:
We are looking to develop a somewhat younger senior squad into a team for the next few seasons, which may well see this season being quite a challenge but the future we hope to be bright. We are also looking to develop our youth, encouraging the development of our juniors from the youngest ages right through to our Under 16s.
Significant signings over the pre-season:
The four most significant signings to our club are
• Jessi Lampi
• Daniel Burton
• Scott Miller
• Giles Guest
Young players to watch out for this year:
We have a crop of young players, who will be challenged to emulate the solid consistent 2013 season of Jack Collins and Lachlan Knight.
Staff/coaching changes:
This season we welcome new senior coach Jesse White as well as our non-playing assistant coaches Keith Royston and Dean Callaway and playing assistant coach Nick Avery.
