No longer the new kids on the block this year, Manor Lakes President Gary Sheppard explains how the club is training hard to continue on the success of their debut season.
Number of teams this year:
This season, we’re fielding 10 teams ranging from seniors down to juniors.
Pre-season News:
We will be fielding a senior women’s team this season which is another step in the clubs plans to making it an all-inclusive club. Also our under 18 team is looking strong after a difficult season last year we have got some new players training hard and with some players from last year our numbers are good and it looks promising for the year ahead.
Expectations for 2014:
After a great first season it is important that our juniors are strong and we try and develop our juniors into being competitive against other sides, so they continue to enjoy their football and learn/strive to be our next generation of senior players.
Staff/coaching changes:
Our senior head coaches are the same but we have strengthened our assistants with some great appointments that we believe will be a major reason for improvement. With our junior coaches we have a blend of old and new which is great and they are all keen to improve on last year.
Training Details:
Some of our junior’s preseason training with the seniors has been great for the kids and given them a huge amount of confidence (see photo below).
