The Sunshine Football Club is heading in a fresh direction in 2015 after appointing Brendan Hallinan as its new senior coach.
Officially announced in a statement by the club this morning, Hallinan will take the step up to senior coaching ranks for the first time in the WRFL after coming over from the Essendon District Football League’s Aberfeldie Football Club as the Reserves Coach.
“It is with great pleasure that we announce that Brendan “Barney” Hallinan has been appointed Senior Coach of the Sunshine Football Club,” President Craig Ryan said.
“Brendan has many years of experience in the coaching circles and we are thrilled about this next phase in the football club’s direction.”
Hallinan will replace 2013 Coach of the Year Brett Jacobs who resigned from the helm at the end of the 2014 season after four years in the role.
Joining Hallinan in the coach’s box will be fellow Aberfeldie senior coach Mal Michael who has been appointed as Sunshine’s senior assistant coach.
“The club is excited to have both Brendan and Mal at the helm next season and the club is looking forward to the direction they want to steer the club towards in 2015,” Ryan said.
