Kiwis too strong for hosts

THE Fiji Mixed team took their biggest blow when New Zealand swept them aside with a 72-27 thrashing.

New Zealand brought in their Open Men's players to fill in for their players as they were also playing their second game of the day having lost to Australia 46-32 earlier in the day.

These new inclusions saw them run way from the third quarter as Fiji got everything wrong.

They looked lethargic and it seems the two games per day scheduled is taking its toll.

While, the Fiji mid-court have the experience of our national women reps, the lesser game experience of other players on court meant they had to work overtime to fill the void.

In the end , New Zealand jumped ahead simply through short inter-passing, better communication and accuracy at goal.

Fiji is now considering pulling players from their other teams to fill in for players who are not up to par physically.

In the other game the Fiji Men's Open seems to have used too much gas in the game against Australia the previous evening slowing down the pace of the game against Cook Islands just to win by 42-36.
