JAMES BLOND SUPER CITY RANGERS RE-SIGN DUANE BAILEY FOR 2014 NBL SEASON

The management and coaching staff where exceptionally keen to retain Duane who is seen as being what the Rangers model is all about; fostering local talent to play at a national and eventually an international level. Duane’s development from the 2013 NBL season and his progress with the Breakers this year make him an integral part of the 2014 Rangers team.

For the 2014 season Duane was approached by a few other NBL teams all keen for his services but he made the decision to stay in Auckland both for family and basketball reasons believing that with the recruitment programme that the Rangers have undertaken for the 2014 season that he can win another title to add to the one he won with the Pirates in 2012.

Coach Aik Ho says….

'We are very pleased to have Duane back with Rangers, he has been a key part of our franchise and we look forward to him doing even better in the NBL in 2014. He is a key signing for the Rangers.

He has definitely gone and done the hard work we discussed to get him to the next level. I am excited for Duane and his family. He has grown so much as a player and person. Duane has been around for a while now and will be a key player/leader for this Ranger franchise moving forward.'
