The biggest annual increase in Youth Girls participation is on the cards for season 2011.
AFL Victoria expects around 1200 girls aged 13-18 to play in one of sixty teams across nine competitions in country Victoria and Melbourne. New four team competitions will be established in Ballarat and Warrnambool, whilst the Yarra Junior Football League will start a 6-8 team competition. Existing competitions in Geelong (8 teams), Bendigo (5 teams), Western Melbourne (12 teams), NFL (10-12 teams), Eastern Melbourne (7 teams), and South East Juniors (formerly DDJFL - 10 teams) will all enjoy growth also.
