Paul’s Nomination from Sawtell Toormina President, Matt Anderson
Paul entered the coaching ranks at Sawtell/Toormina Saints Junior football club at the start of the year. Neither he or his children had been a part of an AFL club before. With no coaching experience at any level Paul stepped in and has been supportive, motivating and thoughtful in his approach when coaching Auskicker kids. His training methods are a mixture of skill based activities together with general fitness, game day programs and chocolate eating something he picked up during his playing days in South Australia.
Paul is well liked by all of his players, parents and other coaches within the club. It is encouraging for the club that not only have all of his players improved during the season due directly to his coaching style and methods, but Paul's ability to handle training and game day pressure has continued to grow to a point where now he is talking about doing a coaching course and taking over the under 11's next year.
Paul is a significant part of the coaching staff and an active member of our club and community at large.
